Bathroom Refurbishment Lymm
Mr and Mrs Russell's Low-Maintenance and Accessible Bathroom
Project Details
After researching local bathroom specialists online, Mr Russell discovered our website while searching for a trusted company to modernise their bathroom. Impressed by our previous projects and clear process, he used our “Arrange a Quote” feature to book a free, no-obligation home survey.
Our online booking system is designed to be quick and hassle-free, allowing customers to select a date and time that fits their schedule directly from our live calendar, making the first step towards a new bathroom simple and convenient.
During the initial home visit, Mr and Mrs Russell discussed their requirements in detail. The Russells explained that their bathroom had not been updated for nearly 20 years and no longer met their needs.
Mrs Russell shared that they were looking for a modern, low-maintenance bathroom that would also be more accessible, particularly when their ageing parents came to stay. The existing bath-shower combination had become impractical, as climbing in and out of the bath was no longer a safe or comfortable option.
Location: Lymm, Cheshire

Following the initial home survey, our experienced bathroom design team used the information gathered to create a bespoke bathroom floor plan and a detailed initial quotation. This allowed Mr and Mrs Russell to clearly visualise how their new bathroom refurbishment would look and function before any work began.
As part of our professional bathroom refurbishment service, the completed floor plan was presented via our video quotation presentation, which is sent to all prospective customers. This convenient approach enables homeowners to review their proposed bathroom layout, fixtures, and finishes in detail from the comfort of their own home.
During the presentation, we outlined the comprehensive scope of work required to complete the bathroom refurbishment, encompassing installation, plumbing, electrical work, and finishing touches. We also provided a clear and transparent breakdown of costs, ensuring there were no hidden surprises and giving the Russells complete confidence in choosing our bathroom refurbishment specialists.
After reviewing the initial designs and quotation, Mr Russell booked a design review meeting, where we again visited the property at a convenient time and day.
Now that the layout was confirmed, together we explored our collections in more detail, along with wall covering options. As Mrs Russell wanted a low-maintenance option, we looked at wall panels by Fibo as an alternative to traditional tiles. Eco-friendly, 100% waterproof and verified antibacterial, Mrs Russell chose the style and colour from a wide choice of Fibo wall panels.
Following the design review meeting, we updated the floor plan and quotation, and presented a final quotation along with 3D images to Mr and Mrs Russell.
Using our digital proposal software, Mr and Mrs Russell were able to view our detailed quotation along with the 3D images of their new bathroom. Mr Russell then electronically signed our proposal and paid the required deposit.
Now it was time for the work to begin.

Week 1
Before our team of installers arrived on Monday morning, we arranged for the skip to be delivered on Friday afternoon. This allowed our installation team to start the process of removing the old bathroom quickly and efficiently on the first day.
Monday: By the end of day one, our team had fully removed the old bathroom, including the old wall coverings and ceiling. Delivery of the new bathroom suite and products also arrived and was stored in a spare room.
Tuesday: As the bathroom had not been replaced in 20 years, our installation team carried out some restoration to some of the floor joists, along with the existing partition walls. Our team also began to frame out the new ceiling as we lowered it to incorporate new LED spotlights, an extractor fan, and an overhead shower.
Wednesday: Now the room was back to brick and an empty shell, our team completed the 1st fix plumbing, which included routing and connecting new hot and cold supply pipes, waste and drainage pipes within walls and floors, positioning soil stacks for the toilet, and setting up shower valve connections.
Thursday: As part of the bathroom refurbishment, Mr and Mrs Russell also asked us to replace the bathroom window. 1st fix electrical work was also completed today.
Friday: With the new window installed, and all of the 1st fix plumbing and electrical works completed, it was time to plasterboard the walls and ceiling and tank (Waterproof membrane) the shower area. It's crucial to tank a shower area by applying a waterproof membrane before tiling/wall panels, to prevent hidden water damage, protect structural elements (like joists and plasterboard) from rot and damp, stop mould growth, and ensure tiles stay bonded, saving significant repair costs and extending the bathroom's life by creating a robust, continuous water barrier.
Week 2
Monday: Our fitting team completed the installation of the Fibo wall panels and trims, along with replacing the door lining and architrave, before starting on the 2nd fix electrical and plumbing works.
Tuesday: All 2nd fix plumbing and electrical work was completed today, ready for the painter to arrive after lunch.
Wednesday: With the painting completed, our installation team returned to complete all the required siliconing and sealing.
Thursday - Sign-off day. As with every bathroom refurbishment we complete, our project manager, Stephen, returned to the Russells’ home to carry out a final walkthrough of the finished installation. Together with Mr and Mrs Russell, he worked through our comprehensive quality checklist to ensure every detail met our high standards.
Delighted with the transformation of their new bathroom, Mr Russell was happy to sign off on the project, marking the successful completion of the renovation.
